Lying is sometimes attached to a number of psychiatric diagnoses such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Bipolar Disease. People with ADHD are predisposed to lying because they tend to act on impulse. On the other hand, the low serotonin level associated with the Bipolar Disorder causes impulsiveness, hence, they are more prone to lying. Pathological lying is also a result of Antisocial Personality Disorder in which victims are prompted to lie just to get what they want. In Conduct Disorder, people lie for
deceit and mischief. But whatever your reasons are for lying and even if it's inevitable, it may no longer be healthy soon as it becomes a habit.
