The Gilly's Gym has been one of the busiest facilities in Waterville. This facility has helped thousands of Waterville fellows to achieve
fit and healthy body. And this gym has been participating in many health-related social activities within the community.
The humble beginning of this famous gym is the reason of its popularity. The building (of the gym) was constructed in year 1933 by Doris Gilbert. At first, it was used by Hood's Ice Cream. And after using the building for 30 years, the facility became vacant. In 1960's, there were no
gym facilities in the area. That time, only few weight equipment were available for work outs. And Doris gave the old building to Ernie Gilbert, his son. This became the home of Gilly's since then.
After several years, the operation expanded, and became a recognized business in the city. This progress continued, and more renovations experience. The expansions required to use the other nearby buildings. Hence, the gym has enough parking space for its customers. The changes did not stop there. More equipment and skilled personnel added to the list. And with such improvements, this facility can be easily accessed through Lindin and Seavey streets. Today, Gilly's participates in various health and fitness programs as its way to help in treating and preventing chronic illnesses.
